Lightning Sailboat “Calumet” Seeks New Owner

The Lightning is a classic sailboat, a former Olympic class boat with an enormous worldwide group of active fleets with many enthusiasts. The Lightning is a 19 foot, 10 in boat, with a 26 foot mast. It is a fast but stable boat.

The current boat is a beautiful wooden original. It was fully restored from 1981 until 1984 and then put into storage where it has remained ever since. The boat is a mixture of cedar and mahogany, with Sitka spruce spars. The sails are in good condition, still in the original bag from 1984. The boat has been stored covered in a dry garage ever since. The trailer is not in good condition and needs to be replaced.

The owner of this beautiful boat has moved away and has asked me to find it a new home. Given that it needs a new trailer and the boat may need a little sprucing up from the years, he is willing to let the boat go for $500 or best offer. The boat is currently located just outside of Toronto Ontario.
